Chaparral has been an eminent force in the boating industry for nearly a decade, leading as a top-selling boat in the USA. Their line spans from 19’ to 34’, encompassing various series and trim levels. Among these, the opulent SSX models, ranging from 24’ to 34’, shine with industry-leading designs and inventive features, ticking all the boxes for buyers in this segment.

Exploring Chaparral's Innovative Infinity Power Step

In 2019, Chaparral unveiled a groundbreaking addition: the Infinity Power Step, addressing a feature that had been missing from their lineup. Before this introduction, other manufacturers offered fold-down steps on their boats, but Chaparral noticed areas for improvement in existing designs.

The Infinity Power Step is a swim platform section that folds into the water to provide easy access and reboarding for two- and four-legged swimmers. It’s electrically powered and is available on five Chaparral models with sterndrive power, including three SSXs and two Surf boats. The step will not deploy if the engine is running and it’s linked to the drive’s tilt and trim so the two will never come in contact.

The Challenge with Existing Steps

Previously, fold-down steps were manually operated, requiring users to physically maneuver and retract the steps, which could pose challenges, especially for individuals with physical limitations. Moreover, these steps didn't reach far into the water, making boarding a bit cumbersome, similar to performing a pull-up to get back on the boat.

Introducing the Infinity Power Step

Chaparral's 2019 unveiling of the patented Infinity Power Step revolutionized the industry. This power step, controlled by a switch near the rear swim platform, eliminates the manual effort. With just the press of a button, the step powers up, ensuring engine power is cut for safety. Subsequently, pressing another button lowers the steps into the water while simultaneously lowering the outdrive, ensuring safety for anyone entering the water. To retract the steps, a simple button press folds them back into the swim platform, eliminating the need to bend down or kneel.

Design Advantages

The Infinity Power Step sets itself apart with its dual full steps compared to competitors' single-step designs. This lower positioning into the water resembles walking up stairs out of a pool, offering easier boarding and a comfortable lounging experience with padded backrests. Covered in SeaDek flooring, a soft and non-slip material, each face of the step prioritizes comfort and safety.

Available Models

As of now, Chaparral offers the Infinity Power Step on four models: 247 SSX, 267 SSX, 287 SSX, and 307 SSX, including their corresponding Surf models.

Infinity Power Step: A Game Changer

This innovative step design by Chaparral significantly enhances functionality and ease of use. It has influenced many buyers to choose Chaparral over other brands, solely for this feature. If you're seeking a luxury bowrider within this size range, the new Chaparral SSX models featuring the Infinity Power Step are sure to impress.
